Preparing for the Audition
There three parts to the audition: scales and arpeggios, two etudes etudes, and sight-reading.
Audition Preparation Part 1: Practice your two octave scales
Students will play ONE of the following major scales and arpeggios: C, G, D, A, F, Bb, Eb - All scales and arpeggios must be two octaves.
All scales and arpeggios are to be MEMORIZED.
Scales and arpeggios must be played in even eighth notes using separate bows.
Quarter note = 60-80

If you are not ready to practice two octave scales, begin practicing one octave scales and arpeggios. Once you are fluent in your one octave scales and arpeggios, start practicing two octave scales and arpeggios. See links to one octave play along videos at the bottom of this page.
